Blog: 3 ways you can help Reanimate this month

If you feel like doing some good this month, here are three easy ways you can support Reanimate.

Shop on Amazon Smile

Instead of your usual Amazon shop, use Amazon Smile. It has all of the same products, prices and benefits, but gives a little back to your charity of choice. For every product purchased, Amazon will donate 0.5%. Remember that donations will only go through when you shop using this link.

Become a Co-op Member

If you shop at Co-op Bridge of Allan, become a member and choose Reanimate. Our Co-op members have already raised over £750 for us so far! Click here to become a member and remember to select Katie's Cradle as your charity of choice. Small donations towards the animals' food and upkeep will be made each time you shop.

Donate to our appeal

COVID-19 has been tough on Reanimate, and any donation you can make will help us to keep caring for our herd and our service users. Every penny is gratefully received; please take a look at our appeal here.

I came under the ownership of Katie’s Cradle 1 year ago under the external rehoming program. I am a little bit of a worry wort and I stress quite easily and because of this I scare some people. I have been lucky, I didn’t know what it meant being under the ‘protection’ of the charity but recently I found out what that meant. When my adopter could no longer keep me, (I got too stressed and in my panic kicked someone) I went directly under the care of Katie’s Cradle, this means I had been tried in a new home and when it didn’t work out, I go to Katie’s Cradle forever. This means that I won’t get passed from pillar to post, that would only make my stresses worse.

The sun rises on another day, another day that would be just the same, another day where no-one cared, or so I thought………..

This is a subject that appears to be quite in focus at the minute, with many differing opinions as to the best way for humans to interact with horses. Horses are very large animals and the size of them alone can cause fear in humans which can result in the human feeling the need to be dominant. As we know, anger quite often covers feelings of fear and as horsemen/women if we don’t understand these emotions then our approach to our horsemanship can very easily have an adverse effect.

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel your choices have been taken from you? Where your opinion is cast aside when it affects you? How did that make you feel?

We have all heard the stories of bottle-fed horses, of how dangerous and uncontrollable they can be, to the extent that they can do someone serious damage. I challenge this……….
