What happens when an animal arrives at Reanimate?

Animals come to us from many different situations, and can be worried, scared and cautious when they first arrive. We have several lovely vets who give them a full check-up, and if needed we start them straightaway on medicines and treatments to start their physical healing process. Mental healing can take longer, and for some animals it’s a continuous process that never ends.

We give the animals space and a clear routine, we are calm around them, and we introduce them slowly to the other animals when they tell us they are ready to be social. Our top priorities are that we can build up a relationship with trust with the animals that join our herd. We want them to feel safe and that they are in a space where they can be themselves. Some of the transformations we’ve seen over the years have been really amazing. When they have joined the herd, they might be ready to welcome new animals themselves!
